    Last night, the Stafford County School Board reversed an earlier decision to allow a transgender fourth-grade student to use the girls' bathroom - even though the student is biologically a male. The unanimous decision means that the individual, a student at Hartwood Elementary, now has to use a single-stall restroom, staff bathroom or the restroom of their biological gender.

    Starting this summer, drivers in Stafford County will begin to see construction activity on Onville and Garrisonville Road as a road improvement project begins. Set to be completed in March 2017, the $15.4 million dollar project will create double left turn lanes from eastbound Route 610 to Onville Road, according to Kelly Hannon, Communications Manager for the Virginia Department of Transportation .

    Stafford fire and rescue crews were called to the area of Eustace Road and Legal Court just before 10 a.m. A boring device stuck the line, which is believed to have been at least two inches in diameter, sending the smell of natural gas through a residential neighborhood. "We arrived on scene, monitored the area, established a hot zone, and then we determined that there was no risked to any of the homeowners in the area," said Stafford Assistant Chief Mark Doyle.
