    April 28--UNIVERSITY CITY -- Street signs posted in the Delmar Loop already warn bicyclists of the danger of spillovers if their tires get caught in the rails laid for the trolley line expected to open in a few months. Now some University City officials are considering whether more should be done to prevent such accidents - perhaps even prohibiting bikes along the congested western end of the line in the Delmar Loop entertainment area.

Flowers said she was impressed by what she saw the Bi-State Development Metro transit enterprise doing with the federal funds. "It's clear that the St. Louis region and Bi-State Development value transportation, people and quality of life," Flowers said.

    Nov. 01--The head of the Federal Transit Administration on Tuesday toured neighborhoods where a proposed Northside-Southside MetroLink expansion would run, a top priority of Mayor Francis Slay as his tenure winds to a close. Last month, Bi-State Development was awarded a grant from the FTA for about $375,000 to look at transit-oriented development, including incentives for such projects, land use and zoning policies and access plans.
