    A St. Johnsville man has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison following his conviction for perjuring himself to a grand jury about his whereabouts on the night of a fatal May 2, 2013, fire in Schenectady. U.S. Attorney for the Northeastern District of New York Richard S. Hartunian and Delano A. Reid, special agent in charge of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives' New York Field Division announced in a news release that Edward A. Leon, 43, was sentenced this morning in U.S. District Court, Northern District of New York, by Judge Gary L. Sharpe.

The perjury convictions stem from two false statements Leon made during a grand jury testimony conducted during an investigation into a May 2, 2013 fire in Schenectady, which caused the deaths of David Terry and three young children, seriously injured another child and destroyed the building and personal property inside.
