    According to a Lawrence County Sheriff's Department report, 76-year-old Jeffery Haas of Springville was stopped at the stop sign at Kenwood Addition Road and pulled out onto State Road 54 East. Hasas told police as he was pulling onto State Road 54 East he saw two motorcycles approaching at westbound at a high-rate of speed and one of those motorcycles, collided into the right rear of his 2016 Subaru Legacy.

    A Springville man pled guilty to unemployment insurance fraud in Marion County Superior Court Criminal Division 3 on January 19. Through the use of agency records, an Indiana Department of Workforce Development employee began an investigation and determined that 37-year-old Christopher Budny was working and receiving wages while claiming unemployment insurance benefits. Budny was sentenced to three years of probation and ordered to repay DWD $10,646 for the benefits he fraudulently collected.
