    Construction of a new school affiliated with the Roman Catholic Diocese of Grand Rapids is set to begin in Spring Lake. The Catholic Education Center will be a 23,000-square-foot, preschool through 8th grade building that will be attached to the existing St. Mary's Catholic Church and activity center located at 406 E. Savidge St. Construction is scheduled to begin on Monday, March 28. The two-floor school will include one classroom for each grade, a large art and science classroom, several extended learning areas, a new staff lounge and resource rooms.
