Michigan currently has a 19-cent per gallon tax on gasoline, which was last updated in 1997, and a 15-cent per gallon tax on the in-state purchase of diesel.

WMU coach Steve Hawkins said the 6-foot-11 Dieng broke his hand during the Broncos' first day of practice last week and is expected to have surgery this week.

    For the second time this season, Spring Arbor University's Courtney Harrison has been named the Crossroads League Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week. The senior from South Lyon helped lead the Cougars to a pair of victories last week, including a 2-1 win over previously unbeaten Westminster College, which is now ranked 16th in the NAIA Top 25. Harrison anchored the SAU defense that allowed only one goal to the Griffins, who entered averaging almost 2.5 goals per game, and shutout Huntington - the fifth shutout recorded by the Cougars this season.
