    The man who led Stafford deputies on a wild chase through the county last week was already wanted in three other jurisdictions, authorities said. Michael Randolph Harless, 35, was charged with numerous offenses after a police dog helped take him into custody in the area of Centreport Parkway and U.S. 1. Authorities later learned that he was also wanted in Spotsylvania, Culpeper and Prince William counties.

    To the drivers who cut into the funeral procession on Saturday, Feb. 25, on the Blue and Gray Parkway, my question is, "What's your excuse?" You cut in, turned your lights on and traveled through several red lights, once even pulling out and thinking you could pass us all, but changed your mind and cut in again when you saw law enforcement leading the way. Whatever was going on in the Ferry Farm area must have been important since you bailed on the procession and went toward Chatham as we went east on State Route 3. To the person in the second vehicle, you did hold out a little longer, waiting to make your move after being able to pass through the last red light at Walmart near Ferry Farm.

The Board of Supervisors will hear a plan Tuesday to increase the shelter expansion from 8,000 square feet to 11,000 square feet. If supervisors approve the proposal, the project's total cost will climb to about $4.7 million-or $1 million more than the county set aside for the improvements.
