Zachary Millett of Dale Street, Spencer, was arraigned Wednesday in Western Worcester District Court on charges of kidnapping, assault and battery, one count of natural rape and one count of unnatural rape in connection with the alleged incident in Barre on July 4. The 16-year-old, according to a police report, had asked several friends and family members at the party, which was hosted at her cousin's house, to tell Mr. Millett to leave her alone after he grabbed her and kissed her.

    A 37-year-old Gardner man has been charged with assault and battery on a person older than 60, and disabled, after he allegedly punched the man in the stomach and threatened to kill his dog outside a Spencer apartment on July 11. Justin T. Laroche of 138 Greenwood St., Gardner, was released on personal recognizance at his court appearance Monday. He was also charged with threatening to commit a crime.
