    A Spartansburg man currently serving a 10-year minimum sentence for involuntary deviate sexual intercourse had a petition denied on Thursday that could have, if successful, granted him a new trial. Daniel Scott Muzzy, deemed a sexually violent predator when he was sentenced in October 2013, filed a Post-Conviction Relief Act motion claiming, among other things, that his legal counsel at the time of plea was ineffective and his plea was not entered of his own free will.
