    As part of its 1-to-1 technology effort, K1-2 students in the Kershaw County School District will be receiving Lenovo 300e Chromebooks on Oct. 30. In addition to classroom use, students will use them on eLearning inclement weather days. The entire district will hold an in-school mock eLearning day on Nov. 20. With one month to go before a mock eLearning Day, the Kershaw County School District is ramping up preparations to test its ability to connect teachers and students at times when extreme weather or other conditions make being at school impossible.

    William Russell Prince died peacefully at home in Columbia on Monday, September 3. He was 48. Born at Fort Jackson Hospital on October 24, 1969, with his twin brother William Scott, "Rusty" grew up in Loris, S.C. where he played golf and football at Loris High School before graduating in 1987. After two years at Spartanburg Methodist College, Russell enlisted in the US Army, where he served with the 325th Airborne Infantry Regiment of the 82nd Airborne Division stationed in Vicenza, Italy.

Judge Chapman, who resided in Camden from 1971 until 2008, was by nature a quiet, humble man possessed of extraordinary drive and ability. He was not one to talk about personal accomplishments; however, they were many and impressive.
