    In the highest-scoring game in its 79-year history, North Carolina defeated South Carolina, 54-39, in the Shrine Bowl all-star game in Spartanburg on Saturday afternoon. The win snapped a three-game winning streak for South Carolina and surpasses the previous game record of 80 points, set in 2000.

    Bill Boroff, a social studies teacher and defensive coordinator for the Timberland Wolves, was selected to coach for the South Carolina team at the 2015 Shrine Bowl to be held in Spartanburg Dec. 15. Shrine Bowl Board member Rodney M. Brown presented Boroff with a Shrine Bowl jacket on Friday prior to Timberland's victory at home over Bishop-England 35-8. The jackets are awarded to all coaches chosen to participate in the Shrine Bowl and are worn at all Shrine Bowl events.

    Josh Carter, a three sport standout with St. John's Cnristian Academy becomes the latest in the Cavalier's history-making school year to ink a letter of intent to play on the collegiate level. Carter, a shortstop on the Cavaliers' final-four baseball team, and a member of the North-South All-Star team, will play basebal for Limestone College next year.
