On May 23 police nabbed three people walking on East Orange Street with red plastic cups containing alcohol 6:18 p.m. and several doing the same at 8:29 p.m. on North Main Street.

Linda Hernandez Walker said she felt "shocked, hurt and helpless" when she learned village officials had "ignored" 500 signatures on petitions asking them to deny a request by the Chagrin Valley Junior Chamber of Commerce to use a South Russell park for a performance by the circus troupe.

    Chagrin Falls schools are considering a $51.4 million plan that will save the oldest parts of the historic Intermediate School, and build a new elementary building at the Gurney School in South Russell. The board has been mulling building plans since September, when the district announced its intention to build a new $28 million combination elementary and intermediate school to replaced the 100-year-old structure on Philomethian Street.

    As tomorrow's tax deadline looms, police departments around the Chagrin Valley have seen a spike in reports of identify fraud involving tax returns. South Russell Police Chief Michael Rizzo said a victim's first clue that something is amiss is when they receive a letter from the Internal Revenue Service telling them a return has been previously filed after they have sent in their tax report.

In a phone interview from the circus' home base in Oklahoma, John Royal said "no organization is under more scrutiny than a circus" and it would be "impossible" for animal abuse on the level the circus is accused of to occur "without strong repercussions."
