Now comes news that South Point High English teacher Bobbie Cavnar has been chosen for the 2018 NEA Member Benefits Award for Teaching Excellence -- an honor which also brings with it a $25,000 cash grant.

A 1979 All-Gazette player for South Point's state championship football team, Fewell is a 20-year NFL coaching veteran who was New York Giants defensive coordinator in 2011 when that team was Super Bowl XLVI champion.

Blake Zieske scored 21 of his career-high 32 points in the second-half, sparking a 13-0 run that spanned the end of the third quarter and the beginning of the fourth to turn a close game into a comfortable Red Raiders victory, 74-55 at home against the Yellow Jackets.

"Obviously, there's some pressure," said Hodge, an assistant for 13 seasons before being promoted to head coach.
