    Mother Nature provided plenty of sunshine and temps in the low 60's that brought out a large crowd on Saturday morning to line Washington Street in Sonora for the 60th annual Mother Lode Roundup Parade. Cowboys and girls riding horses, marching bands, flashy cars, fire engines, kids, robots, dogs, politicians and plenty of floats rolled down Sonora's main drag to the delight of the revelers.

Increased refinery production rates, in tandem with moderate demand and an unseasonal overabundance of gasoline in the marketplace, is causing falling gas prices across the US, according to AAA Northern California spokesperson John Moreno.

The sections include between County Dump Road and Twain Harte Drive from 6 p.m. until 9 a.m.; also between Helipo Road and Snowwhite Ridge Drive from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.; and along Highway 108/49 between Woods Creek Bridge and Old Wards Ferry Road from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. During that same time frame, rail work will be done along Highway 49 from Harvard Mine Road to Rolling Hills Road and from Columbia Way to Pesce Way in Sonora.

    A Sonora man wanted on drug and theft charges was chased down by deputies at the Crossroads Shopping Center, which attracted a crowd of curious onlookers. Tuolumne County Sheriff's officials report a deputy recognized 22-year-old Majer Montoya, wanted on several arrest warrants related to drug sales, forgery, and possession of a stolen vehicle and property, in a blue SUV in downtown Sonora Thursday around 3:15 p.m. The deputy called for backup and pulled the vehicle over on Sanguinetti Road above Panda Express.
