    State public health officials has warned consumers not to eat Williams-Sonoma pumpkin seed pesto sauce because it may have been improperly produced and has a risk of botulism. California Department of Public Health director Dr. Ron Chapman issued the warning Friday about the product manufactured by Sutter-based California Olive and Vine, LLC. The sauce has been sold nationwide at Williams-Sonoma retail stores since September.

    One person was injured in a five-car collision involving a jack-knifed big rig Friday afternoon on state Highway 116 south of Petaluma. The collision occurred just before 3:30 p.m. when Sonoma resident Joe Carl Scoma, 61, was driving west on Lakeville Highway/state Highway 116 just a few hundred feet west of the intersection with Stage Gulch Road, according to the CHP.
