We are fortunate to have a legislator like state Senator Heather Somers, R-Groton, who knows we need to take bold steps to turn this around.  Somers should be commended for her leadership in seeing that the sales tax on boat purchases is reduced to 2.99 percent starting July 1. This will be a shot in the arm to shoreline marinas and boat dealers who have been losing sales to Rhode Island.
