    Greene County Sheriff Lemmie Smith said the office is currently investigating a breaking and entering to the El Charrito Store on N.C. 58 South just outside of Snow Hill around 1:45 a.m. on Dec. 25. Smith said four suspects entered the business, while two of the suspects covered their faces. Suspects took an undisclosed amount of money along with parts of the camera system.

    Sheriff Lemmie Smith said William Ray Bell, 67, of Snow Hill was located in Tennessee and extradited back to Greene County on Monday, where he was charged with Embezzlement by Public Officers or Trustees. The Sheriff's Office began an investigation in July which lead to the discovery that Bell took an undisclosed amount of money from American Legion Shirley Hill Post 94, where he served as finance officer since 2005.
