    Christopher Phiouthong of Smyrna remains in critical condition at an area hospital after being severely burned and blinded when he was attacked with a corrosive acid on April 5. According to Smyrna Police, an individual entered Phiouthong's home on Hendricks Hill Dr. with force and doused him with the chemical. The acid blinded Phiouthong in both eyes, and he has serious chemical burns over more than 51 percent of his body, according to police.

Murder defendant Reggie Bowling, 55, of Saint Francis Avenue was charged with first-degree murder in the June 18, 2016 shooting death of 47-year-old Keith Jackson, who had been a friend.
