    During a Texarkana, Texas, City Council meeting Monday, members of the public can express their opinions on a proposal to extend alcohol service hours to 2 a.m. The council will hold a public hearing on the proposed ordinance, which would allow Texas-side bars and restaurants with the appropriate state permit to serve alcohol two hours past the current 12 a.m. cutoff time. If the ordinance eventually is approved, an establishment wishing to serve alcohol until 2 a.m. would have to get a Mixed Beverage Late Hours Permit from Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission.
