    Mason County sheriff's detectives are investigating after a man was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound and his dead 17-month-old child was found with him. The drama began at about 6 p.m. Thursday when deputies responded to a 911 call from a 32-year-old Shelton woman who said she had become concerned about her estranged husband and their two small children, who were living with him in the 700 block of E. Road of Tralee at Lake Limerick.

Chappell Crossing, off Shelton Matlock Road, in a rural area of Shelton around 7:30 p.m. A coroner pronounced the 51-year-old victim dead at the scene, and will identify the victim once next-of-kin has been notified.
