    Stratford police have charged 18-year-old Justin Thompson of Shelton after they say he stole things, including a credit card from a parked car. It happened on May 3. Police say Thomspon was identified on surveillance video when he allegedly used the stolen card at a Cumberland farms.

John Boswell was taken into custody yesterday evening, processed at the Shelton Police Department, and released on a $1,000 non-surety bond.

    A fifth person has been arrested in connection with the stabbing of a teen at a party in Early May. Shelton Police have charged 21 year old Jamar Smith of Derby with assault 2nd, aiding and abetting assault 2nd, and breach of peace 2nd degree. Previously four other people were charged for the incident in which a 19 year old female was stabbed in the back and received a cut to her head.

    Four teenagers have been arrested after a 19-year-old woman was stabbed at a Shelton house party in May. Police say a 17-year-old West Haven girl stabbed the victim when a fight broke out at the party shortly after midnight on May 2. The victim went to the hospital with a cut to her head and a stab wound to the back. The West Haven teen is charged with second-degree assault, conspiracy to commit second-degree assault, and second-degree breach of peace.

    In buses, limousines, and cars around 550 students from Shelton High School descended on the Oakdale Theater for their junior/senior prom, Saturday. It was a scene typical this time of year at venues across the country but what's different about the night that unfolded for students there was it was surrounded in controversy after the headmaster made an announcement last week saying that students who wore dresses with outfits that were backless, had cut outs or had an exposed midriff would not be allowed to go to prom and the cost of the ticket to attended would not be reimbursed.

    According to state police, a vehicle driven by Regina Schmitz-Hillsman was driving south on Route 8 near exit 13, while a second vehicle, driven my Caroline Walls, was driving north between the on and off ramps of exit 13. Troopers say Walls suddenly went into the center median and struck the metal guardrail and crossed into the southbound travel lanes. Walls struck Schmitz-Hillsman's driver side.
