    Many individuals spoke out during Wednesday's packed Root Town Board meeting regarding last week's incident wherein Town Clerk Laurel "Sherrie" Eriksen refused a marriage license to a same-sex couple, explaining that they would have to return at a later date, at which time her deputy clerk would issue the document. It was announced by Code Enforcement Officer Cliff Dorrough at the outset of Wednesday's meeting, on behalf of the Root Town Board, that no microphones, tapes or cell phones would be allowed, adding, "if you are caught, we will ask the [Montgomery County Sheriff's Office] deputy to escort you out."
