Select Board chairman Tim Scoggins asked the commission to look into what other towns have done to support keeping businesses such as that one in the community.

    The passengers of four cars escaped serious injury Monday night in a crash state police said was caused by a driver falling asleep at the wheel.According to state police, a vehicle driven by Leonard Link of Danby was traveling northbound on U.S. Route 7 when Link fell asleep at the wheel and his car crossed the center line.A southbound vehicle operated by State Police Trooper Thomas Stange of the Shaftsbury barracks swerved to avoid a collision with Link, went off the west shoulder and struck a guardrail, police said. Link's vehicle continued northbound in the southbound lane and struck a car driven by Rosanna Moran of Dorset head-on.
