    A 58-year-old man was arrested on a warrant stemming from an incident in late February in which a 6-year-old girl was found alone in his cold truck outside a Seymour bar. Richard L. Scroggins of Commiskey, who is the legal guardian of the girl, was booked into the Jackson County Jail in Brownstown on a charge of neglect of a dependent, a Level 6 felony, Monday morning.

    Police had a busy Sunday afternoon after two separate personal-injury wrecks were reported within a period of just more than two hours in the Seymour area. The drivers in the crashes, Michael Allen Greathouse, 30, of Seymour, and Olivia Bell, 17, of Dupont, were taken to Schneck Medical Center in Seymour after they both complained of pain, according to a news release from Reserve Officer Scott Davis with the Jackson County Sheriff's Department.

Silven Vires Jr., 49, entered a guilty plea to dealing in methamphetamine, a Class A felony, and received 20 years with the Indiana Department of Correction from Jackson Circuit Judge Richard Poynter.

    A UPS truck that runs on compressed natural gas was involved in a wreck with another semitrailer late Friday night three miles south of Seymour that left Interstate 65 closed for four hours. No one was injured in the wreck, but the compressed natural gas tank broke open, and emergency crews had to wait until it was safe before starting cleanup.
