    The Seward County Sheriff's Office and the Seward and Milford Police Departments are investigating reports of suspicious vehicles seen trying to contact young females in the two communities and in rural areas. A suspicious sea foam green van with Hispanic males north and east of Milford was reported Saturday, August 4. The vehicle had left the area before a deputy arrived.

    In response to a growing number of Fentanyl overdose calls, a Nebraska County Sheriff's Office produced training for those situations. The Seward County Sheriff Office was host to approximately forty local law enforcement officers as well as Fire and Rescue Squad personnel from several departments within the county.

Seward Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Josh Fields threw out the first pitch, a Seward student played the Star Spangled Banner on trumpet and fans enjoyed beverages sold by the local Bottle Rocket Brewery.

    Seward County Sheriff Joe Yocum announced Monday that deputies are being assigned to patrol Centennial Schools near Utica on a more frequent and regular basis, and to help Seward and Milford Police officers with random patrols of their local schools. Sheriff Yocum, Seward Police Chief Alan Baldwin and Milford Chief Forrest Siebken say they are working with the superintendents of Centennial, Seward and Milford High Schools on the increased patrols.
