    Drivers are being asked to avoid the Old Seward Highway's intersection with Tudor Road, which has been closed as work to repair Thursday's water main break continues, until at least Saturday. In updates overnight Thursday, Anchorage Water and Wastewater Utility spokesman Chris Kosinski said about 50 customers affected by the break had been provided with temporary water supplies as the work continued.

Anchorage Water and Wastewater Utility spokesman Chris Kosinski announced the break in a statement at about 11:15 a.m. Thursday, saying Anchorage police were on hand to direct traffic away from the area.

    The Alaska SeaLife Center is now heated almost 100 percent by renewable energy thanks to a system that uses heat from an unconventional source. The center announced Friday that after three months of testing, the Seward research institution and aquarium has gone from heating 60 percent of its building with renewable heat to 98 percent thanks to a heat pump system that pulls energy from seawater sourced by Resurrection Bay.
