    Superintendent George Arlotto announced on Friday he will be postponing bus transportation changes for students in four Annapolis communities and a community in Severna Park. Earlier this year, students in Annapolis' Newtowne, Greenbriar, Woodside Gardens, and Annapolis Walks communities, as well as the Sabrina Park community in Severna Park, were told school buses would not be picking certain students up.

    Anne Arundel County Police have identified a 4-year-old girl who drowned along with her grandfather in a neighbor's backyard pool in Severna Park Thursday afternoon. Officials said 51-year-old Lemuel Kane and his granddaughter, Aryannah Wooten, were pulled from the pool.

    Just off Ritchie Highway, customers can conveniently pull into the Severna Park Marketplace for groceries, brand name clothing or office supplies, but on Monday, a different kind of vendor set up shop in the parking lot dealing illicit products. "Earlier this month, we received information from citizens who said that they became aware of this van travelling to different locations within the county and selling drugs out of their van," said Marc Limansky of the Anne Arundel County Police Department, "So investigators took this information and began looking for the vehicle, and yesterday about 7pm last night, they located the vehicle parked at a shopping center in the 500 block of Ritchie Highway in Severna Park."

    A Crownsville man was arrested for a string of catalytic converter thefts that occurred between January through March 2017. Anne Arundel County Police say 32-year-old John Mark Barnes was arrested in April 7th for the thefts that occurred in Severna Park and Millersville.
