    Oconee County sheriff's deputies say someone appears to have stolen personnel files from a closed Seneca textile mill and could be using the information to open fraudulent accounts. Investigators said in a statement Friday that any former employees of the Westpoint Stevens plant should look at their credit statements as soon as possible to see if someone is using their identifying information for fraud.

    Deputies with the Oconee County Sheriff's Office are investigating an early Sunday morning shooting at a bar that claimed one man's life and may have sent others to the hospital. Deputies and officers with the Seneca Police Department were called to Sonny's Bar and Grill near on Wells Highway after a fight was reported around 12:30 a.m. Before deputies arrived at the scene, they learned from dispatchers that multiple gunshots had been fired and that callers at the location reported multiple people had been injured, according to a news release.
