    Two people are being held at the Pettis County Jail on $500,000 bond following their arrest Saturday on charges stemming from the Oct. 31 kidnapping of a Sedalia woman, according to Sedalia Police Department reports. Joseph D. Rankin, 27, and Paula Hopkins, 45, both of the 200 block of South Quincy Avenue, were arrested at about 8 a.m. near the intersection of East Broadway Boulevard and South Massachusetts Avenue after SPD Officer Daniel Benner recognized their vehicle as one reportedly used in the Oct. 31 kidnapping of a 57-year-old Sedalia woman from her home in the 1000 block of West Sixth Street.

    Two Sedalia residents and employees of Liquid Designs were arrested at the local business Thursday morning on several drug charges. According to a Sedalia Police Department STING Unit news release, at 11:51 a.m. SPD patrol officers, detectives with the Criminal Investigations Bureau and detectives with the Drug Enforcement Unit executed a search warrant at Liquid Designs, located at 800 W. 16th St. Once entry was gained through the front door, three subjects were found inside and arrested without incident.
