    On July 20, the mother of a 13-year-old Sedalia boy reported to the Pettis County Sheriff's Office he had sex with Nicole D. Porter, 20. According to court documents, Porter admitted during an interview with a detective to getting drunk with the alleged victim while at her residence in the 600 block of Southwood Drive, then having sex with him on two occasions within the last few weeks. She also admitted she knew the boy was only 13. The day after her interview, Porter's two roommates brought a notebook belonging to her to the sheriff's office.

Young, 34, of Sedalia, was arrested Monday afternoon in connection with Friday's homicide in the 400 block of North Missouri Avenue, but he was released from the Pettis County Jail at 5:11 p.m. Tuesday due to no charges being filed by Pettis County Prosecutor Phillip Sawyer during Young's 24-hour holding period.
