    TRAFFIC ALERT: The Highway 99 and I-5 closures are scheduled to continue today , but in the past they've ended earlier - especially 99 - so we'll be monitoring through the day, and will publish a separate update if that does happen. In the meantime, southbound 99 is closed between the West Seattle Bridge and Battery St. Tunnel, and northbound I-5 has lane closures starting south of the city and stretching to Olive Way.

We've obtained from Sound Transit the results of this morning's Elected Leadership Group meeting: That means the ELG did not accept one of the SAG's recommendations, keeping the "Pigeon Ridge" alternative - which ST estimated would cost an extra $1.2 billion - in play.

David Hutchinson of Seal Sitters Marine Mammal Stranding Network shares the photo and explains its disposition: Friday, a team from the Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife and SR3 , in cooperation with the Port of Seattle, removed an 8-foot long California sea lion carcass from the public beach at Jack Block Park.
