Ivan Doig, an award-winning author whose books set in his native Montana made him one of the most respected writers of the American West, has died. He was 75. Geoff Kloske, the publisher of Riverhead Books, said in a statement that Doig died Thursday of multiple myeloma at his Seattle home. Comment?
Food supply company Sysco has agreed to sell 11 distribution centers to Performance Foods Group in order to alleviate Federal Trade Commission concerns over its pending $3.5 billion acquisition of rival U.S. Foods. Sysco President and CEO Bill DeLaney said in a statement on Monday that it has worked over the past year with the FTC to help them better understand the highly competitive U.S. foodservice distribution industry and the customer benefits that would result from the deal. Police in the Seattle suburb of Auburn said Thursday that they believe they have found the body of missing actress Misty Upham, known for her roles in "August: Osage County," ''Frozen River" and "Django Unchained." A woman's body was found in a ravine near the White River around 1 p.m. Thursday, police spokesman Steve Stocker said. Comment?
