    As election day inches its way closer to the town of Scottsville, the Albemarle County Voter Registrars office is getting ready for folks to rock the vote, but they want to make sure residents, bring their ID's and check their eligibility too. "There are 369 registered voters in the town of Scottsville," said Albemarle County General registrar Jake Washburne.

    The Albemarle County Service Authority and the Virginia Department of Health Office of Drinking Water have lifted a boil water notice in Scottsville. Potions of the town were impacted by a water main break on Wednesday, which caused the notice to be issued.

    According to the Albemarle County Service Authority, a water main broke overnight near the old post office within town limits, prompting the notice for nearly 80 customers. Valley Street between Mountain River and James River roads and James River Road between Warren and Hardware streets are also affected.

    The Albemarle County Sheriff's Office has a new chief deputy and she is the only female promoted to such a position in the ACSO since its founding in 1745. In a release, the sheriff's office says Gianniny led the office through the accreditation process during the past year with a perfect score, which just one percent of law enforcement agencies in Virginia achieve.
