    TUCSON, AZ - A Tucson based Satanic group will no longer deliver the invocation at an upcoming city council meeting in Scottsdale after the city decided to cancel its plans. "The city is not going to deviate from its long standing practice of having the invocation given only by representatives from institutions that have a substantial connection to the Scottsdale community," said the city in a statement released Monday, May 23. "Therefore, we are making other arrangements for the invocation to be given on July 6." The Satanic Temple member Stu De Haan of Tucson said the group originally got permission to speak at a meeting in April, but the city changed the date to July 6. Now, the city ultimately said no.
