    State police have released more details of a weekend accident on the Thruway that claimed the life of a 19-year-old upstate New York woman. Troopers say Mariah Surgick, of Schenectady, was a passenger in a car traveling west on Interstate 90 around 4 a.m. Saturday when the driver pulled over onto the right shoulder near Exit 25 in the town of Guilderland.

    Three teens have been arrested on arson and burglary charges for an upstate New York high school field house fire that destroyed $70,000 worth of athletic equipment. The field house at Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons High School in Schenectady was destroyed in the early morning blaze on Oct. 21. Three teens, ages 17, 18 and 19, were to be arraigned in city court Friday.

After a scoreless first frame, Vermont took a 1-0 lead just 13 seconds into the second period on a goal from Alyssa Gorecki.
