    Sept. 11, 2018 - Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man who was found on side of the road in Sayville on Tuesday, September 11. A passing motorist called 911 at approximately 5 a.m. to report a man lying on the side of westbound Sunrise Highway, west of Broadway Avenue. The man, David Banks, 38, of Bay Shore , was transported to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue where he was pronounced dead.

    July 11, 2018 - Marine Bureau officers rescued two men who drifted more than two miles from capsized catamaran in Patchogue on Tuesday, July 10. A Davis Park ferry captain observed an unoccupied, overturned 16-foot catamaran sailboat with its mainsail set near Patchogue River Buoy 1 at 3:42 p.m. The captain radioed Marine Bureau officers via VHF radio when he did not see anyone near the vessel or in the water. Marine Bureau Officers Robert Jenkins and Steven Tarolli responded in Marine Juliet and located the two victims who had drifted more than two miles southwest from the sailboat.
