    A Saylorsburg woman was charged with setting her home on fire while she was drinking beer and smoking a pipe in a shed behind the residence. According to police, on June 19 a patrol unit responded to a call of a house fire at 251 Chestnut Drive North in Ross Township at 7 p.m. They were told the home's owner, Dana Dimitriou, 47, might have started the fire, according to police.

    A trio of Pleasant Valley High School students have been cited for criminal mischief after shooting a paintball gun inside the school earlier this month. Nicholas Burke, 18, of Saylorsburg, and Wayne Schneider, 18, of Effort, along with a third individual, a juvenile, shot a paint gun in the hallways of the school, according to a citation written by the Pleasant Valley School District Police.
