A mistrial was declared at the end of last week when new evidence was made available three days into the trial. Khaalis, a former Savannah-Chatham Metro Police sergeant, is charged with making false statements and violating his oath as a police officer.

McKittrick explained that he had extensive neck cancer surgery in 2001, he takes food through a tube and the scaring has continued to become more and more restrictive and just plain irritating.
