    A Michigan ballot drive to ban Enbridge Line 5 or any other pipeline company from transporting crude oil under the Great Lakes is ready to begin collecting petition signatures. The group Keep Our Lakes Great told the Michigan Board of Canvassers it plans to rally in Lansing on May 1 and begin gathering the necessary 252,523 signatures from registered voters after petition language was approved April 26. The group wants the state legislature to create the Great Lakes Pipeline Safety Regulation Act, which would terminate the Enbridge easement and ban crude oil from any pipeline crossing under Michigan's Great Lakes bottomlands.
