District Business Administrator David Nester told the Board of School Directors, during its meeting Tuesday , that the administration would assemble a request to conduct the study "during the upcoming school year to define the potential impact" of proposed residential and commercial development on the district.

    A 24-year-old Pottstown woman has been arrested by Lower Pottsgrove police for alleged drug- and driving-related offenses following a traffic stop that occurred Saturday afternoon on North Charlotte Street in the township, according to the department and a criminal docket filed with the Sanatoga office of Magisterial District Justice Edward Kropp Sr. Brittany Sanford, of the 400 block of York Street, Pottstown, faces charges of possessing a small amount of marijuana for personal use, use or possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license, operating a vehicle without a valid inspection, and making a false identification to a law enforcement officer, the docket reported.     Single lanes will again be closed beginning today and continuing through Thursday on both sides of U.S. Route 422 between its Sanatoga and Route 724 interchanges so a contractor's workers can install reflectors on concrete barriers, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said. One lane of 422 West will be unavailable to drivers from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.; and one lane on 422 East will be closed from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The work is part of PennDOT's $73.3 million project to rebuild 1.6 miles of U.S. 422 between Sanatoga and Route 724, and build new bridges over the Schuylkill River and Norfolk Southern railroad tracks.

    Lane restrictions on both the north- and southbound sides of Route 100 between State Street in West Pottsgrove Township and King Street in the borough of Pottstown are planned to begin today from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and continue daily through Thursday as workers for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation conduct resurfacing and pavement repairs, the agency said. Drivers on 100, also known as Pottstown Pike, should allow additional time for travel near the work area, it added, because "backups will occur."
