    A string of deaths in southern Eddy County has left residents fearful of the growing traffic density during an oil boom in southeast New Mexico The 59-year-old was heading south on U.S. Highway 285 in May 2017, when he lost control on the narrow road, flipped his vehicle and was ejected in the crash. Two months later in July, Robert Taylor, 38, of Tatum suffered a similar fate when he lost control of the commercial vehicle he was driving after he failed to make a turn and left the roadway.
