    In response to the letter, "Problems with golf course initiative" , the initiative petition is a democratic process supporting what is established in the 1997 Community Plan for San Geronimo, a golf course in perpetuity. There is nothing "doubtful" or "unconstitutional" about the regulation.

    One of the greatest tragedies of modern civilization has been the diminishment of the commons - spaces publicly held for the benefit, use and enjoyment of all members of a community to congregate, co-create and recreate. It is in the light of this loss that I rejoice in the county's efforts to obtain the parcel of land at the heart of the San Geronimo Valley for the benefit of both the natural habitat and the community at large for posterity.

That analysis was a court mandate stemming from a 2010 Salmon Protection and Watershed Network lawsuit that first imposed an injunction on development and later changed development standards.
