    The Escondido Police Department reports that the Special Olympics Organization has cancelled today's torch run due to the unsafe weather. Members of law enforcement and Special Olympics athletes started the torch run at the San Ysidro Port of Entry at the U.S. border, at 8 a.m. Coronado police said the flame arrived on the island, and was headed towards Spreckels Park, where a welcoming ceremony was expected.
