    Two private marinas on Detroit Lake, which has unusually low water entering the summer recreation season, will temporarily move their moorage facilities and services to water at Detroit Flats on the south edge of town. The historically low snowpack in the Oregon Cascades has resulted in lower water levels at Detroit Lake, located 45 miles east of Salem along Oregon 22. The reservoir level is some 50 feet lower than normal, leaving much of the lakeshore exposed and making it impossible to operate all but one boat launch and moorage docks.
