    A Salamanca man who admitted to assaulting a 1-year-old girl last year was sentenced to five years in state prison Monday in Cattaraugus County Court. According to Lori Pettit Rieman, Cattaraugus County district attorney, Jarred W. Murphy, 26, showed a "depraved indifference to human life" on March 26, 2015, when he allegedly shook, slammed or threw the infant against a hard surface or object - causing serious injury to her brain.
