    Two men charged in connection with the January shooting death of a Saks man will be tried separately, after prosecutors decided it would be best to try the alleged gunman first, officials said Tuesday. Bill Broome, Abbott's attorney, filed a motion for a speedy trial and a another to argue that the shooting was in self-defense, according to court records, both of which were withdrawn after prosecutors agreed to try Parker first, Calhoun County District Attorney Brian McVeigh said Tuesday.
