Beginning next week, the MCMI survey vessel Amy Gale will use state-of-the art sonar technology in an attempt find the cables which got tangled with dredging equipment when the Army Corps of Engineers last dredged this section of the Saco River in the 1990's.

    A hearing is scheduled Wednesday in Worcester Superior Court on a motion for a new trial filed by one of three men convicted of murder two years ago in the 1994 shooting death of Kevin Harkins. John R. Fredette of Saco, Maine was sentenced to life imprisonment without parole after a jury found him guilty of first-degree murder in the Feb. 15, 1994, shooting death of the 36-year-old Mr. Harkins, whose body has never been found.
