    The Wachusett Regional School Committee announced Monday that cuts in staff, supplies and maintenance will be made as it reconsiders its budget after the original budget proposal failed to pass in two of the five district towns. Superintendent Darryll McCall, in his report to the school committee noting the implications of the budget cuts requested by the towns of Rutland and Paxton, said, “Both of the numbers associated with the requested reductions would be devastating to our students and cause further erosion of the educational foundation we have attempted to bolster.” The district is considering a new budget that would keep Paxton's share of the increase under 2.5 percent.
