    The Branson School, the prestigious private school in Ross, announced it has retained a law firm to investigate allegations of sexual abuse against students by a school employee in the 1970s. Head of School Christina Mazzola and board of trustees chairwoman Claudia Lewis said in a letter last week to the school community that three alumnae have so far come forward to report alleged sexual abuse by a former school “employee.” The school is also asking anyone else with additional information or knowledge about possible abuse to let investigators know.

Superior Court Judge Joel Wohlfeil ruled that it's not illegal for supporters of the citizens' initiative to use names that refer to San Diego State University because that doesn't imply that the university is spearheading the SDSU West measure or has endorsed it.
