    Roseville police officers are investigating the shooting of a man who was waiting for a bus outside a local gas station Aug. 16. Roseville Police Chief James Berlin said that on the morning of Aug. 16, a 30-year-old Detroit man was shot at a bus stop at 12 Mile and Gratiot roads. Roseville police responded immediately to a report of shots fired and a man down and found the man suffering from a gunshot wound to his hand.

    Steenland Elementary School, 16335 Chestnut St., is hosting the Roseville Community Schools district's five-week summer learning program, which started in early July and will end Aug. 9. There were two summer learning programs in the district - at Steenland and Kment elementary schools - but Kment's program was contingent on a School Improvement Grant, said Donovan Stec, principal of Steenland Elementary. The district no longer has the grant, which is why the program at Kment is closed.

Eastpointe Police Deputy Chief Eric Keiser stated in an email to C & G Newspapers July 11 that the department received 16 complaints about fireworks and eight noise complaints that were associated with fireworks July 3-6.
